Full course description
This training module is designed to formally introduce healthcare workers and first responders to the concept of distress tolerance. After providing a definition, the module gives students an opportunity to assess their level of distress tolerance and then provides an introduction to three therapeutic approaches to reducing distress intolerance and increase distress tolerance. These therapeutic approaches include skills from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and breathing exercises. The goal of the module is to provide healthcare workers and first responders with distress tolerance skills they can use in the field and at home.
