CQHII HIPAA Training Course

The Center of Quality Health IT Improvement (CQHII) HIPAA Training is a 100% online course that is divided into two sections, HIPAA Privacy and HIPAA Security. The HIPAA Privacy section is composed of seven modules and the HIPAA Security has six modules. Each module includes a video lecture and an assessment containing multiple-choice and/or true and false-questions. The modules do not need to be completed in order; however, it will make more sense as each module builds on the other. HIPAA Privacy Primarily known as the Standard for Privacy of Individually Identifiable Health Information, this regulation establishes national standards to protect certain health information. Its main goal is to safeguard individuals’ protected health information (PHI) while enabling the necessary flow of health information to deliver high-quality healthcare and to support the protection of public health and well-being. HIPAA Security Primarily known as the Security Standards for the Protection of Electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI), these standards establish a comprehensive national framework for safeguarding health information that is stored or transmitted electronically. The primary goal is to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of ePHI, thereby protecting patient privacy and maintaining trust in healthcare information systems.
