Full course description

Welcome to Systems Analysis and Project Management in Healthcare

This course is an introduction to both systems analysis and project management.

  • System analysis is a process of planning a new business system or replacing an existing system by defining its components to satisfy the specific requirements.
  • Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet the project requirements.

This self-paced course will emphasize working with the clinical project team and other stakeholders to determine and use the appropriate generally recognized good practices for the project, determining the appropriate combination of processes, inputs, tools, techniques, outputs, and life cycle phases to manage a project.

This course begins with an introductory module to systems analysis, including two lectures and guidance on how to navigate the course.

The course will provide Project Management Institute (PMI) Professional Development Units (PDU) for continuing education.
