UT-HIP Links to an external site.  is a secure, system-wide platform that gives researchers a single point of access to healthcare data across the eight UT System health institutions, along with a secure workspace where teams can analyze data together and manage access to protected health information.

Established in 2016 by the UT System Office of Health Affairs and approved by the Board of Regents, UT-HIP replaces the fragmented, institution-by-institution approach to data and analytics with one trusted, governed platform that every institution can leverage. Through secure "Clean Room" workspaces, teams collaborate faster and more safely while each institution maintains full control over its own data sharing.

More than a technology initiative, UT-HIP is a system-wide program of the UTHealth Enterprise that brings together expertise in healthcare, research, health plan benefits, business, and information technology to establish data as a shared asset and deliver improved healthcare outcomes across Texas.
