Full course description

Intervention Mapping (IM) offers a step-by-step framework for developing theory-informed and evidence-based health promotion programs and interventions rooted in the behavioral and social sciences. Students will build knowledge and skills in developing, adapting, and implementing theory-informed and evidence-based health promotion programs and interventions. They will focus on a topic of their interest to craft an initial evaluation plan by compiling a needs assessment, program development, and implementation strategies. The course format includes lectures, small group work using problem-based learning, group discussions, and presentations of participant projects. A copy of Planning Health Promotion Programs: An Intervention Mapping Approach, 4th edition, Jossey-Bass, 2016, will be included in this course. This course is available virtually or in person.
