Intervention Mapping (IM) offers a step-by-step framework for developing theory-informed and evidence-based health promotion programs and interventions rooted in the behavioral and social sciences. Students will: • Build knowledge and skills in developing, adapting, and implementing theory-informed and evidence-based health promotion programs and interventions rooted in the behavioral and social sciences. • Focus on a topic of their interest to craft an initial evaluation plan by compiling a needs assessment, program development and implementation strategies. The course format includes lectures, small group work using problem-based learning, group discussions, and presentations of participant projects. A copy of Planning Health Promotion Programs: An Intervention Mapping Approach, 4th edition, Jossey-Bass, 2016 will be included in this course.
